Pinnacle Diamond Ranch

Introducing: The Ladies
of Pinnacle Diamond Ranch

The mares who live here at the ranch are wonderful. They come in all shapes and sizes from rock-solid draft-cross Lady, to tall graceful Thoroughbred Dixie.

We have 9 mares at camp:

FillyBest
Filly is a lovely chestnut mare that was given to us when her beloved pasture-mate died during the winter of ‘07 and her owner knew she wouldn’t be happy all by herself. In her late teens or early 20s, Filly has a sparkle all her own and will take great care of our riders this summer in the ring and all year round on the trails!

Dixie2
Dixie is a 2002 Thoroughbred mare that used to be a racehorse in Saratoga. Camp Pinnacle’s Director, Pastor Chris Gerardi adopted Dixie from a rescue in the Spring of 2006. Although Dixie is a serious favorite of the Intermediate and Advanced riders, Pastor Chris is definitely her favorite human!

Buckles
Buckles is a stunning “champagne” dun mare who is a real sweetheart. She is on loan to Pinnacle Diamond Ranch for the summer by a great friend who kept Sophie and M’Abu for the winter and wants to have a little distance between Buckles and her year-old daughter, Lily.

Spirit2009
Spirit is a beautiful 2002 paint mare that was given to Camp during the winter of 2008. All the campers love her because she’s so pretty, she can be stubborn, but she’s a lot of fun in the ring. She loves to trail ride and is willing to go out alone, which really impressed all of us!

WIndiW’Indi is a lovely 2002 paint mare (although you can only tell when you look at her legs, her chin, and her belly!) who came to us with her sister Spirit. Her full name, W’Indiana Jones, makes us all smile! We’ve ridden her a good bit, and she’s a good girl with nice manners in the saddle - you have to watch her on the ground though, as she’s a little bit feisty!

2008Wk1SophieSophie is a lovely flea-bitten gray mare that was given to Camp in the summer of 2008. Sophie and her best friend M’Abu (the little white Welsh Pony on the geldings page) are virtually inseparable. They are wonderful lesson and trail horses and we are so thankful that their owner chose to have them with us when they needed a new place to be.

Appaloosa2009
Gypsy is a lovely, 21-year old, super-sweet registered Appaloosa mare. Her registered name is Luck Be A Lady, and her owners called her Rayven - she didn’t strike us as a “Rayven” but Gypsy just seemed to fit! We bought her in PA when we dropped Levi off at his new home... we couldn’t come home with an empty trailer, could we?!
